sometimes a workaround is the only way. it is easy to spend too much time on
a single problem.
do you have the latest printer driver for that printer? they are usually
free and downloadable from the net. not sure if this was suggested already

Thanks everyone that offered suggestions about my page borders.
Paper size was not A4, margins were well within range for my printer. I
tried seven ways from Sunday to get the borders where I wanted from
adjusting margins to resetting the page border from text to edge of paper
and whatever else I could tweak.
I've given up and simply inserted a large, 1 cell table on the page and put
the border on it. Plan B but whatever works right?
Another method might be to put a graphic on the page...wish I could set the
border the corrrect way though.
