I too think the Acrobat toolbar macro thingy sucks, but even faster than
Matthew method, is to choose Print > Acrobat PDFwriter (as printer).
This is exactly what the macro does, but is only one or two clicks
longer...

Cheers

     :
:I had the same problem with the Acrobat toolbar - it
     :drove me crazy.
:Since I don't use the Acrobat macro all that often, what I did was
:move the "PDFMaker.dot" template out of my "Startup"
     :folder (located
     :at "D:\Program Files\microsoft office
     :xp\Office10\Startup\" on my PC,
:but your location will be different). This prevents the PDFMaker
:macro from loading when Word starts, and displaying that annoying
     :toolbar.
     :
:When I do want to use the PDF maker macro, I simply click
     :on "TOOLS" >
:"Templates and Add Ins" and I browse to an alternate
     :folder where I
:placed the PDFMaker.dot template, and add it in. Next, I
     :hit ALT+F8
:to bring up my macro dialog box, and run the
:"AdobePDFMaker.AutoExec.Main" macro - and this brings the
     :toolbar up
:and lets you make a PDF with the Word styles converted over to
:bookmarks, hyperlinks activated, and all that other good
     :stuff that
:this macro does for you. Another advantage of loading
     :this template
:only when you need it is Word starts up and shuts down faster, and
     :consumes less resources. It's a win-win situation.
     :
     :Hope this helps.
