Hi Mike...here's what to do...this *should* put it back

Go to your Tools menu and choose "Customize"...Click on the "Commands" tab
and make sure "File" is selected in the left pane...in the right pane,
scroll down til you see "Close", then click on it and hold your mouse
button down and drag it out of that box up to your Menu bar and keep your
mouse button held down and hover it over the word "File" until the File
menu opens...then just drag it down the file menu until you see a line
where you want it and let go of your mouse button...then close the
Customize box and you should be all set.

Subject: [mso] Word 2000 - Menu lost close option - Help

Linda and other members

My Word 2000 within Office 2000 professional has lost the Menu option
Under "File to Close. There is only New; Open; Save; Save As etc. Any
ideas how to get it back?

The closed icon has been added as a workaround as I don't like clicking
the x in top right hand corner of programme.

All suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

Mike
