It should be the receipt , the date you purchase it and not the
activation date. Coz there will be bound to have hips of people
activating the first time but they bought it a while ago. Then in such
instant, how about those corp with no activation? How would you justify
that?
MS is not stupid to put it that way.=20

And, if so, what will be the proof?
In English, I have purchased MSO XP 2002 but not yet installed or
activated it. In the past (unless I'm delusional), MS has counted
backward from a relase date and said something like, "If you buy X now
we'll let you upgrade to Y when it is released in three months!"
I never took advantage of that deal before but now that I might, will
MS want a receipt as proof? Or will the activation date be the key? If
it is the latter then I'll wait to install and activate my copy of XP
2002.
Ideas?
