Add a new empty column to the right of the one with last name, first name in it Highlight the column with the last name, first name in it and go to the Data menu and choose "Text to columns" Choose the comma as your delimiter and it will put the last name in one column and the first name in the new column Then add a third column and put this formula in it: =B1&" "&A1 Assuming your first name is in B1 and your last name is in A1 This will give you firstname space lastname Then just drag that formula down the column and delete or hide the other two columns. The add-in will put the names into two separate columns, allowing you to then simply switch the column around. Then, I avoid all future headaches by always listing the names in separate columns - except when someone else gives it to me that way already! The add-in is at http://www.name-splitter-for-microsoft-excel.com-download.net/Business-F inan ce/Spreadsheets/Name-Splitter-for-Microsoft-Excel.htm - it is a time-limited shareware I believe.
