[mso] Using Backup in Outlook 2000

I'd like to backup my Personal Folders, Contacts, etc. in Outlook 2000.
When I enter
File
Backup
I receive a Message Box about having to exit Outlook
before it can begin.
When I
File
Exit
nothing seems to happen
( I say this because my last backup shows as 7/5/05).
What do I need to do differently to cause the backup to happen?
