Hi Jonathan and James,

Thanks for calling my attention to that. It is relevant to documents I
create, however, the version of Futura Bold in use is not True Type. Also,
I'm not likely to get compliance on this issue from some of the authors (see
next comment).

I do something similar. I'm willing to work around the occasional problem
with font style in a few text boxes rather than reformat everything that
people send to me. Besides, some of the authors take pride in their
"artistic" creations. A text-only policy would meet lots of resistance, and
I'd get only partial compliance. On the other hand, I frequently use the
NoteTab text editor to strip away some embedded problems in parts of some
documents. IOW, I end up with pure text even though I don't attempt to
enforce a text-only policy.

Thanks to all who have commented on this thread. It helped to clarify for me
the varied rendering in certain text boxes.

I no longer handle publication of a newsletter, but when I did, I allowed
people to submit in many formats but only used their plain text. That is,
how it would be from NOTEPAD. While the content was their responsibility,
the formatting was mine. The issues you experience are one of the reasons.
