To have no preferred profile in Outlook 2003, go to Control
Panel>Mail>Show Profiles, and check "Prompt for a Profile to be Used"".
The it will give you the option to select a profile from a list each
time you open Outlook.

As far as I know, there's no way to have no default....unless you made
some phoney account and made that your default.=20

Thanks Linda - this is what I've done already, but because of the number
of email accounts there really isn't one that is the normal default,
what I would really like is to remove the option of having a default
account at all so that I'm always prompted to select an account. Is
that possible?

Signatures have been assigned to the relevant accounts - that's a real
bonus being able to do them automatically!
