Note...when your screen freezes and ESPECIALLY if you've just upgraded = to a higher version of Office (or other software), one of the first things to check is your video driver. So many times folks upgrade to stronger = video intense software, yet they don't upgrade their video driver and, hence, = when they try to run the tougher software, their video driver freaks and freezes...unable to handle the more intense pull on it's resources. When freezing starts to happen, the best way to troubleshoot it is to, first, make sure your TEMP directory is clear! Then, you can tune down = your hardware accelerator. The name of this graphics driver has changed and = it's location has moved some with newer OSes...so if you tell me the version = of Windows you're using, I can probably help you locate the dialog. Or = search Help in Windows for hardware accelerator. It's generally on the system performance dialog or within the advanced dialog of your video display. Kick it down a little to free up video resources. You won't notice any difference until you're a heavy gamer or watching DVDs or TV on your = PC...or doing a lot of video work.=20 If tuning down the accelerator helps the freezing issue, it's time to upgrade to a newer video driver. You should always keep your video/print drivers updated. This is something you can easily do by checking the make/model of driver you have, going to the manufacturers web site and checking for an update. I uninstalled Office 2000 =3D = first, but the XP installation seems to have picked up my settings nicely =3D = without additional steps required. I use four email accounts and had them set to check automatically every = =3D 2 minutes. I do not save my passwords. The problem: When I have first =3D = opened Outlook 2002, it runs through the sequence very quickly, popping up the password enter box for all four accounts. I can get the first password entered and mail download on that account, but when I go to enter the password on the next account the screen freezes. At that point I can =3D = click on/open each of the three password boxes on the task bar, but they are = =3D all frozen. I can Ctrl/Alt/Del, the list shows one of the password screens = =3D "not responding", I end task on that, and Outlook closes. I can uncheck the box on each account to include it in the automatic =3D check, and check them manually on at a time, the mail downloads fine on = all =3D four accounts. I would like to be able to have them check = automatically, =3D though. Any insight? Thanks, amy ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx = or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to = mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
