Subject: [mso] Office XP read only when opening files?
I have 150 new Laptops I am rolling out with XP-Pro and office XP.
My users as they get these new IBM laptops are complaining that when
they try and open there own files on the servers that some of them come
up as read only.
People have suggested cleaning up temp files but there are none when
these are new systems. I have also verified share and file permissions
on the servers. This problem did not start until we went to XP and
Office XP users still on 2000 are fine. =20
I did come across something, I caught a string that talked about the
macro security settings being to high, so I have a couple of test users
that I have changed from High to Low to see if the problem continues.
Any ideas?
