Dear all,

How is everyone doing?

I have been trying to install Office XP Professional on my comp but just can't
get passed the system file updates stage. According to the
www.microsoft.com/ork website, setup.exe now installs system file update
files including IE5 before it proceeds to install office XP.

This is where I got stuck, halfway through "configuring system file updates",
it tells me "Error 25202, Cannot install portions of the required System Files
Update: IE5. You can try installing Internet Explorer by running
IE5Setup.exe from the IE5 folder located on your CD, or contact..." All i can
do is press OK and nothing has been done. I need to tell the installer not to
install IE5 and proceeds with the rest, but how?

My queries:
1) I have IE6, isn't that good enough? >;)

2) the ork website above mentions that i can do a command-line
like "setup.exe NOIE=true" to bypass the installation of IE, but it doesn't
seem to work, the same error appears.

3) did i miss some other parameter in the command line? the ork website
doesn't provide an example that uses NOIE=TRUE as an example -
"setup.exe NOIE=true" is only my guess, although it mentions everywhere
that we can use this property and value for its said purpose.

4) I do not have setup.exe in the CD, instead, i have setuppls.exe,
setuppro,exe, setupstd.exe, setupppt.exe, and all other individual
componenets etc... will these work the same as setup.exe?

Please help, I am almost giving up on this...

May I wish everyone a merry xmas and a happy new year.

regards
sukii
