======================
In O2003 (even SP1), when I start to type an address into a new e-mail (e.g.
Ed Jones), I get nothing when I type Ed but I do if I erase the Ed and start
to type Jones.
I can probably fix this by changing the "file as" but there has to be a
better way...
======================
My understanding is that the "drop downs" which provide shortcuts for entering
email addresses are NOT directly related to your address book.
Rather they are related to the history of your email.
Example: assume you have NO ONE in your address book. Just typing addresses to
send email will enable O2003 to "remember" these and provide you with
dropdowns to speed the process.
Thus, typing "Ed" won't bring up ed jones UNTIL it becomes a history.
Type "Ed". Let the system FIND "Ed" and complete the address (either by
clicking the "check names" button or enabling it to be automatic). In my
experience, this will "teach" the suggestion function that "Ed" is "Ed Jones"
and it will begin to suggest it.
Notes:
1. All of the above is based on personal experience. I might be wrong. If I
am, please correct me.
