Without seeing the query and the value it is not picking up it is impossible
to guess. However some things you might check are:
The letter O typed as a zero or vice versa
The letter l typed as a number 1 or vice versa
Extra spaces at the beginning or end of the word (use trim on both the query
expression and the item searched)
Hard (non breaking) spaces instead of normal spaces in the word
Quotation marks issues including smartquotes, single to double, etc.
