In addition, given that your friend does not want to delete the mail, she
might consider moving some mail into a variety of categories that make sense
to her and create pst files for each group of emails.

Dian Chapman has a good article about this on her TechTrax site.

Outlook 2000 has a maximum size of about 2.0 GB for a .pst file. If it
is large than that, Outlook will quit responding. I suggest that your
friend uses a utility to reduce the size of her pst file and then create
a new pst file.=20

The utility is available from Microsoft ae this address:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3DB33B1DFF-6F50-=
4
11D-BBDF-82019DDA602E&displaylang=3Den

This will delete enough of her pst to let Outlook work, but the data
that is deleted is not recoverable.=20

Outlook 2003 has a limit of 33 TB (33,000 MB). If she upgrades to
Outlook 2003 she will have to create a new pst using 2003 in order to
take advantage of the larger size.

Subject: [mso] MS Outlook maxed out

Hello all,
A friend of mine who owns a very small business using one single mailbox
(info@xxxxxx)has items totaling 2 Gig in her pst file. She can open
Outlook, she can read her existing emails. She can't receive emails
(they hang) and she can't delete any of the existing items. =20
What can she do to make room for her incoming mail since she can't
delete any of the existing mail? =20

She is running WinXP and MS Outlook 2000 and her email is web based
using a POP3 profile.

Thanks for your help!

Selene
