Yahoo has just increased the free space to 100MB in the Files section. I think they made some improvements in the Photo section as well. You can still prohibit attachments independent of your settings for posting messages, or uploading files or photos. Log in to the group then click Management | Web Tools. I'm not advocating one way or the other about re-opening the Y! group. This is merely FYI.
