[mso] How can I enter Hours and minutes in excel 2007

How do you set a spreadsheet to recognise hours and minutes in entering
figures. The option in format cells never shows it how I enter it.

In format cells / number tab / custom I select hh:mm but it never recognises
an entry. E.g. 3 Hrs 45 mins shows as 10:48. But 10.48 what.

To show 3.75 hours in hours and minutes I have to enter main digit then a
formula - = (3+(0.75/100)*60). Doing this for every line is quite
painstaking.

Can anyone simplify it for me please.

Thanks in advance.

Mike
