Hello Ray,

Thank you for your reaction.
The column Visitors (B) contains the number of visitors on that day.

The column Number (B) is the same as the column Visitors (B).

The column Count is counting:
the number of days on which there was 01 visitor,
the number of days on which there were 02 visitors,
the number of days on which there were 03 visitors,
the number of days on which there were 04 visitors,
etc
the number of days on which there were 41 visitors,
the number of days on which there were 42 visitors.

I tried to use the (array) function:

=FREQUENCY(B2:B18;B2:B19) Result 0
{=FREQUENCY(B2:B18;B2:B19)} Result =FREQUENCY(B2:B18;B2:B19)

Dear Ray, how do you see the Crosstab query solution?

Thanks, Adri

I think we'd need to know a little more about how your data is held in
Excel, but I think a Crosstab query should do what you're after.

Frequency/Count per Number of Visitors per date in Excel or Access

Hi dear MSO colleague,

Since 1 week I am a new MSO_user from Belgium.
I am very impressed what I already saw in the MSO Freelists Archive!

Now my problem:
I try to determine the frequency of the numbers of visitors per date. I
gather the data in Excel and copy it also in Access Tables.

In Excel I already have tried aray formula =Frequency, =count(if etc.
but I did not succeed.

I also want to try it in Access. But I don't know how to do it.

I already did look in the MSO Freelists Archive but I could not find the
answer.

Please I hope you can help me. Thank you in advance.

Details:

Input: Visitors per date
Date Visitors
3/11/2004 19
6/11/2004 42
10/11/2004 20
13/11/2004 03
17/11/2004 01
20/11/2004 07
24/11/2004 36
27/11/2004 03
1/12/2004 30
4/12/2004 17
8/12/2004 25
11/12/2004 11
15/12/2004 03
18/12/2004 10
22/12/2004 02
25/12/2004 09
29/12/2004 18

Result: Frequency/Count per Number
Number Count
01 1
02 1
03 3
07 1
09 1
10 1
etc
41 2
42 1

Thank you very much.
