the hidden columns might make a difference but I wouldn't think so. I've not had that kind of problem but you never really know...if it was an exact science, we'd all probably be looking for work, ya know? is the data manually entered or did it come from some source and converted? I have had problems with converted data. Sometimes a field entry will have a space in front or a hidden symbol like this which visually in a spreadsheet might look the same but really isn't.
