Could be in a number of places.

If it's a well behaved little application then it should be in the XLstart
directory under your office installation - if there's anything there move it
out to a temporary directory and see if that helps.

Also check Tools>Addins and check if there's anything ticked there.

Dave.

Subject: [mso] Excel 97 - Autoexecuting 3rd party add-ons

Hi all,

How is Excel 97 auto-executing 3rd party add-on's - is it reading an
autoexec type file somewhere that I can edit, or is there some way I can
change this?

I have a couple of instances where this would be helpful.

1.
I'd installed AVP (an antivirus package) and "OfficeGuard" was one of the
features - whenever you launched an Office component, it would load up the
virus checker. Now that I've uninstalled AVP, it still looks for that virus
checker.

2.
I have inherited an office computer that has a program which imports
information from our accounting package. It is automatically loading
whenever I start up Excel. I don't see any way of turning it off from the
program's options.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can share -

CK
