Alan, How about creating a simple Excel database and then import it to Outlook? The first link below is a video that uses Outlook 2007 and Excel 2003/2007 although it works the same way with the 2003 version. http://www.5min.com/Video/Import-Contacts-from-Excel-to-Outlook-57440016 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/295664 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA010964231033.aspx?pid=CL100626971033 http://www.outlookpower.com/issues/issue200703/00001954001.html Hope this works for you.=) Ruby **************** From: Alan Bell <alanb@xxxxxxx This is going to be used for data entry by unsophisticated people so I'd like to have a UI that clear and not prone to error. A naked Access file wouldn't work at all. ******************* From: David Grugeon I would export from Outlook to a Microsoft Access file, strip out the data and any columns I did not want, and start from there. ******************** From: Alan Bell I need a simple contact database program with the usual fields for data that eventually will be imported into Outlook. Therefore I want the database to be "Outlook compatible" whatever that means. What I have in mind is that, for instance, the name fields in this simple database aren't longer than Outlook wants to see. Or, on import, cell numbers go into the right slot rather than being confused with home faxes. I'm not of a mind to start from scratch in Access. What I need ought to be already-built. Any suggestions? xxx ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu at the top.
