The answer is to add a time picture swtich onto your Word MERGE filed.
Specifically, I think the picture you'll want is:
\@ "hh:MM"

I have a database table with information including the time of an
appointment. I have the time formatted in the medium format so that it
appears 4:00, and not with the seconds.
When I merge this information in a Word file, however, the time converts
to the 4:00:00 format.
Any way to get it to drop the seconds reference?
