Sorry, too afraid to do that.  The thing is, though, I can't delete the
autonumber field, because it is the one that connects the donations with
the donors.  If I lost that autonumber I'd have 200 donors worth of
donations over 3 years with no way of knowing which donation went with
which donor.  I'm not entirely sure that that would work, because my
memory is that Access was telling me that I couldn't change anything
into an autonumber if anything had been filled in in the sheet ANYWHERE
not just in that field.

Found something that may help.  To reset the autonumber with the records
in
them delete the autonumber field and add it back.  Also, be sure to
compact
and repair the database.   hth, Cathy
