Kathie, I'll tackle your second question first. The easiest thing to do would be to add a notes field as a memo data type. Then just enter what you like. Something simple like "Don't seat near Donor A" would be all you would really need. As for the first question, you could actually add a table for correspondence. Link it back to the Donor table and each time you send correspondence have it make an entry in that table. You could even list the solicitations you have sent them as well. You may want to consider writing code to loop through your list of Thank You note recipients. You could send them the Thank You note (personalized even!), update the correspondence table with a Thank You Note sent entry and then update the last thank you note field in your table. This should cover everything you want to do. (There are other ways too) If you wanted to you could make the correspondence table into a subform and insert it near the bottom of your main form so that you wouldn't need to change views to see the history you have with the Donor. It did work!! It turned out I hadn't set the format to short date on the donations table!! Woo hoo! Okay, now is there an easy way to link that donation to the thank you letter that was sent? It would be AWESOME to be able to look at a donor's record and be able to link to ALL correspondence I'd sent to them so when and if there is another person sitting at this desk they have an understanding of the relationships we've built with our supporters. BTW, on another set of lists I'm on (charity issues) someone has asked if they have coding they put in their databases that indicates that Donor A can't stand Donor B. Ethics dictates that we don't put anything in our files or databases that we wouldn't want the donor to look at, but a good event requires that we know about these sorts of things and not forget them. Made me smirk because I'm working on the database today and that seems like a good field to put in there. Try taking out the 1* portion of your criteria and you will take care of your problem. Your criteria should look like this: ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
