That's an idea, James, thanks. Would I need to know people's login to set
it up? I've got several sample databases that check for who's logged on, I
can check them and see what's behind them and if it's something I can
easily grasp and transpose to this situation . . . yes, I can see using a
screen to open two separate main menu's depending on conditions. I'll
check this out further, thanks.

Cathy,

On your idea, maybe you can run this by them. You can have Access check to
see who is logged in to the network and display a different menu (or set of
menus) based on who is signed in. I'll have to give a 100% automated
variation a thought though.

James

Oooouch! . . . if there's a way to 100% automate the process, that would be
ideal. What about the same relative idea only to export the table if no
100% way on the link? I could put a button the user could push, I could
live with that much user involvement, but if they have to scroll for the
path and tables they will not be happy. The idea is the people using the
short version of the database to only get forms and reports still need
access to the current tables. I had thought about a password protected set
of menus so one database would fit all sizes, but am getting a no from
those who are requesting . . . they want 2 databases. Anyway, I'm game for
any ideas, and appreciate your help, thanks, Cathy
