Thanks for the response Neil. Yes it's XP. I already went into "Tools > Email accounts > View or change existing directories or address books > select the address book > Change" and selected the "File As (Smith, John)" option, but they are still showing up First Last. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the tip on the fax number. -----Original Message----- From: Neil Atwood [mailto:natwood@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, November 25, 2002 11:19 AM To: mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mso] Re: 2 questions about outlook... =20 Hi John, 1. You don't say what version of Outlook, but for XP: Tools > Email accounts > View or change existing directories or address books > select the address book > Change 2. You can eliminate the fax numbers from the address book listing, just edit your Contacts and put a letter in front of the fax number. Eg F(02) 9863-9898 HTH ____________________________________ ,,,,, Neil Atwood - natwood@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx=20 =D4=BF=D4=AC Sydney, Australia=20 There are 10 types of people - those who understand binary and those who don't. =20 =20 -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Hough, John Sent: Tuesday, 26 November 2002 5:22 AM To: 'mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' ok... lemme see if I can explain this correctly...=20 Question 1 - When composing a new email, and clicking the "To:" button to pull a name from your contact list, it lists my contacts "first name last name", can this be reversed to list it last, first? Question 2 - Same situation, click "To:"... for some reason it lists some contacts twice, I've figured out that anyone with a business fax # in their contact entry, or multiple email addresses are the culprits... problem is, it doesn't say which one is which unless I add both to the email and click ok so I can see the "To" field in the email, then I can delete the ones I don't want. Is there a way to only have it show the primary email address, or have it say like "Joe Schmoe (fax)" and "Joe Schmoe (email1)" for each contact??? Thanks. ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to=20 mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=3Dunsubscribe Or, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu.
