did you look in the LNER website _www.lner.com_ (http://www.lner.com)  ? You 
can directly to the Y4 under  locomotives. It says in there that coal was 
stored in the rear portion of the  left side Side Tank.
 
However, I wonder if this is the locomotive you are actually refering to. I  
think (but definitely not sure) that I saw somewhere a locomotive like the Y2  
described as a Y4.
 
I am no authority. Just want to point out the excellent website.
