[MoAccess] Scripts for the Editors

Some people have wrote to me to ask about the copy protection that is
used with the scripts for the editors.

The scripts use a protection system that I wrote called LockJaw. When
you pay for the scripts, I send you a code that will unlock them. This
code will unlock the scripts as many times as you want, and will work on
any computer where Jaws is installed with the Jaws serial number that
you gave to me. This means that you can run the scripts on as many of
your computers as Freedom Scientific will activate. I think that this
policy is very fair. Many companies make you request a new unlock code
each time you re-install Windows or switch to a new computer. With my
system, you never will need to request any new codes from me unless you
change your Jaws serial number.

I know that some people are using pirated versions of Jaws. I've been
asked about what can be done regarding unlock codes for these people.
These pirated versions of Jaws don't run with your own serial number.
Instead, they either run with the demo serial number 801, or some other
specific serial number that is unique to the pirated version. I'm sorry,
but I will not create unlock codes for pirated versions of Jaws. Since
everyone that is running the pirated version has the same serial number,
that unlock code would allow every pirated version of Jaws to run the
editor scripts.

Unfortunately, there really aren't any other ways of copy protecting
Jaws scripts that don't depend on the Jaws serial number. I'd like to
sell the scripts to everyone that wants a copy, but unlocking the
scripts for the pirated versions of Jaws would be pretty much the same
thing as giving them away.
