Not really. You could, but there is a Sonar bug that keeps it from working. TO use an arp, you have to setup your arp settings on the Motif. However, whenever you press play or record in Sonar, it always sends a patch change command. This recalls the voice, complete with its original arp settings. So, if you want to use arps with Sonar, you can do two things, and they aren't easy for new users. First, you can go into voice mode, find the voice (like guitar or whatever), and make the arp changes that you'd like to use in the song. Then, save this as a user voice. Then, you go back into song mode (so that the motif will work with Sonar), and you call up the user voice where you saved all of your arp changes. The other way is to go into the mix settings for the current song and disable the parameter called "voice with parameter". I think that is found on the F1 screen of the track where you're using the arp. If you turn "voice with parameter" off, then the Motif won't load a voice's arp settings when a new voice is selected on a track. So, if you turn this parameter off, and Sonar sends a patch change command, the Motif won't throw out your arp settings. Many people have complained to Cakewalk about this stupid Sonar bug for years. They finally fixed it in Sonar 7.02. So, if you have Sonar 7.02, you can just ignore everything that I said above. However, lots of people aren't using sonar 7 yet, so... Good luck.
