Use it through USB. You can't operate the editors over MIDI. Save your FW1884
MIDI ports for other equipment.

I just picked up a Tascam fw1884 and will now run my setup entirely through
that. Now that I have midi ports, I was wondering; is it more effective to use
a board like the motif xs via midi connections, or via its USB.
