If you keep your phrase tracks on and you go to your drum phrases, you'll notice that the drum voicess will change depending on what kind of a phrase it is. For example, you'd have an acoustic drumset on a more jazz oriented phrase, versus a very techno set on your dance phrases. If you turn your phrase tracks off, you can go through all your drum phrases and your drum voice will remain as you set it when you chose the drum voice you wanted. So then, whether you're on a jazz, RandB or Latin phrase, you'll still keep the same voice.
