hmmm!! there isn't any phrase headers in song mode so it should be working when you change the instrument! try changing the record button way that I explained first and see if that works! holla!!

Actually, I'm in song mode right now. I wondered if it was a phrase track issue, but since I'm in song mode, I don't know.

if you are in pattern mode doing this, sounds like your phrase headers are still turned on for that tracks! you can either do 1 of 2 things! If you left your phrase headers on and you're trying to change the instrument and the changed instrument won't stay when you choose it, when you choose the instrument press the record button then press the f2 button, then press whatevr track you're changing, lets say track 1, then press your category search and then choose your voice you want to change to in the category sections and press the enter button, then when you play it the voice that you chose will stay when you play it!! These steps I just explained is what you call over writing the phrase headers!! You can read more about track voices and phrase header's and how they work up on the www.motifator.com in the motif es forums!! This procedure is not hard to do, if you've hard Ernest's tutorial on sequencing in pattern mode, he uses these steps to pick an instrument!! I'll uses these steps every now and then, but you really won't have to worry about all that if you turn off the phrase header's in the beginning before you start recording in pattern mode!! to turn off the phrase header's go to the f3 screen, then press the sf3 button, then start from the top left of the screen, and going from left to right with the cursor arrow buttons, turn of the phrase header on all sixteen tracks with the decrease button! This way once you do this, you won't run into this problem later on!! It's just easier when there off in the beginning!! Go back to my pattern chain tutorial and listen at the beginning of that I tell and show how to turn off the phrase headers real quick before I start recording on there!! Anyway, hope that helps! Driza out! Peace!!

I had a voice on track eight, but I decided to move it, as I wanted a decent electric guitar patch. Well, it took my guitar patch just fine on track eight, but it seems to be not wanting to take the other voice on track 11. I choose the voice, press Store, Enter, yes, and it seems to take it just fine until I play it. Then it wants to go back to a default piano. How come? What am I missing? Thank you for your help.
