Do you know who your father is, or who is the woman who gave
birth to you? Are you sure? Maybe you found out you were adopted
after your parents had died, it happens. If you knew you were
adopted because you were told at a very early stage in your life
you were very fortunate and you have a lot to share with adoptees
too. Did you find your birth parent and realize you didn't like
what you saw? Did you know you were adopted when you were very
young? How would you feel if you found you were adopted after
you married. Perhaps you want to find your birth parent(s), or
maybe not. Did you only want to know where you came from
because you had perfect adoptive parents? You might be getting to
know a birth parent and finding there are so many similarities
and parallels in your life it blows you away. You could be a
birth Mother who has never been able to live with it. Whatever
people say about adoption there are some who have to face it
every day of their lives. You hope your baby has a charmed life
with new parents, that one day he or she will know the truth and
maybe find you with a "happy ever after ending" as in the movies.
There is a lot of experience here to share so come on in and
join; with the tears and sorrow, but there's room for a smile.
There are so many who are or have been affected, not just the
triangle of the adoptee, the adoptive parents and the birth
parent or parents. Those who live with the adoptee, married to
them, children of an adopted parent where understanding doesn't
or will not come easy.
