Friday afternoon I found a very white colored peep at the Sewage Lagoons in
Tupelo. I saw it again Saturday AM but Saturday afternoon it did not reappear.
I'm posting a few of the pics I took Friday and Saturday of the first
Leucistic peep I've ever seen. The bird is most likely a Semipalmated
Sandpiper. One of Friday's pics I've attached shows some partial webbing
between toes. Bill is straight with no noticeable droop. A rear toe rules out
Sanderling. Very neat bird which required some head scratching and second
opinion seeking during some slow and hot birding times around Tupelo.
