I saw my first of season Spring Azure today, THU 05 MAR 2009, at Clyde Austin 4-H Center in Greene Co., TN. It appeared to be a male 'Edwards' Spring Azure, Celastrina ladon violacea, with a relatively non-lustrous even blue without white shadings dorsally, and ventrally fairly light with nicely contrasting spots and no dark smudges on the margin.
