Hi Malice, here's a quick venues update. There is no new news - training will still be held at the youth centre rink until further notice! Lucky we have a spunky new track now!

_Basketball Courts_
Sadly the Basketball Courts committee met on Monday and have not agreed to let us have another trial skate there this week. The Sports and Rec Officer (Lucy) at Council (who own the courts) is very supportive and has not given up on us being allowed to use it yet. She is getting back to us. Keep praying to the derby goddesses.

_Blatherskite Park Everingham Pavillion_
This pavilion is huge - I put some photos on facebook (can email to you if you not on fbook). It is a bit wider than the skate rink and about 10 times the length. It is made up of big concrete tiles that have cracks between them every 3 metres or so, which would be fine to skate on, it just means its not totally smooth. It is basically a massive shed, with lighting so it is an ideal back up rainy day venue. It is pretty dusty but she said they would sweep/hose it out before we used it.

She also said we could get the keys and pay the bond and then just use it when we need to (on rainy days). We just need to decide if we want to put $600 deposit down. They want to make sure that the concrete is clean for show days in July, so we would need to clean any marks from pads etc off before the show (or lose the deposit).

They would give us a key to pavilion and the gate for $100 key deposit
They need us to pay $500 bond on the shed
It's $110 for each hire ($10 each if we get 11 people along!)

_Our own surface_
Ben has got a quote for skate court - which the WFTDA use in the states for skate flooring http://www.icecourt.com/skate_floor.html which is very exciting. Lisa and I have volunteers to write an NT Sports Grant (due in March 2011) to buy our own skate court - then we can move it to venues to bout and train.

_Places we still need to scope out (anyone up for it?)_
Pioneer Football Club Hall - apparently its tiled anyone want to check it out?
OLSH new hall - Lucy looking in to
Yipirinya School Hall - anyone know anyone here - its a wood floor

Any other ideas?
Cheers,
Axle
