Hey everyone,

You may recall a conversation at training about the Australian roller derby 
forum I am signed up to on Malice's behalf. I just wanted to send some more 
info 
about the forum and the Coalition to everyone. Here is the DRAFT mission 
statement:

The Australian Roller Derby Coalition (ARDC) exists to represent the  unique 
interests of  Australian incorporated Women's Roller Derby Leagues  and act as 
their united advocate.

We are committed to preserving  a not for profit, grassroots, DIY roller derby 
culture which is run by  the skater for the skater along democratic principles. 


Safety, athleticism, and skater empowerment in roller derby are the core values 
of the ARDC.

It  is our goal to provide best practice guidance and support for all  leagues, 
allowing league autonomy and individual character to flourish  at a local 
level, 
whilst providing a common framework promoting and  enabling inclusive 
competition pathways that observe our derby ethos on a  national level. 


The way it works at this stage is that incorporated leagues (that's us!) are 
allowed to take part in the forum - usually with one rep signing in (Two Bit 
and 
I both have the log in). Anything that comes up that is pertinent to training, 
fundraising etc we will forward to people on those Malice committees. Anything 
that anyone wants advice from other leagues on let me know and I can post on 
the 
forum and send feedback to you. 


From time to time there will be decisions that will be voted on by the ARDC - 
where each rep will get their league to decide which way to vote on things 
(such 
as the draft mission statement above). 


The ARDC will also be responsible for planning national events, sharing advice, 
planning training camps, working with Skate Australia, WFTDA etc. 


The ARDC are currently looking for a logo - if anyone keen to enter a design in 
the comp let me know. 


There is talk of a face to face ARDC sometime in 2011 as well as a Blood and 
Thunder boot camp training camp (possibly Easter 2011 venue TBC).
