Mostly screen reader commands, (window-eyes), but also switching from insert to typeover mode in other programs. I.e. traditional functions for an insert key.

I don't think that there is an insert key as such on the mac. Maybe you can give us an idea of what it is that you want to do and maybe we can tell you how to do it on the MAC.
