yuck, we need to figure out what the difference between your computer and others who are having this issue are. I know of one brand new macbook having this issue and I'm having the issue on one of the first macbooks ever made. I don't use the preview payne and my message composition is set to plain text.

Hi all,I'm putting this here incase someone else thinks they are going crazy like I was.It seems as though the latest updates have put a bug in mail. it is not possible to use save as in mail under leopard latest. I've done this before and can do it if I don't have the latest leopard installed though so this is a bug.If someone succeeds in figuring this out, that would be good. In the meantime, this is a good use of the feedback item in the mail menu. Before you ask, using safari 4 does not make a difference.
