When windows boots, it's just like it would be if it booted on your pc, it's drive C:. And, as far as getting rid of boot camp, and using it directly, the only way to do that is to eliminate your mac partition, and leave windows as the only os on the machine. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a mac imo.

Hi,Can you tell me what is the drive letter windows takes when it is active? When macos is active what does finder call it? By booting from an external drive I wanted to get rid of this boot camp and just run directly from it, thanks.Original message:I use boot camp here too, and it works just fine. First of all, you'll need to run the bootcamp assistant found in the utilities folder. This will prepare the partition properly for you, so you don't need todo anything. Second, when you install windows, it will be just like installing it on any pc, (I.E. no speech, and you'll need sighted assistance) This is because you boot from the windows cd, and install from there, just like you would when installing on a non-mac pc. Next, to determine which os to boot, you'll find in windows a panel (in system/startup) that will let you choose which partition to boot from next time you restart. However, in the version I'm using, this process does not work, no ideawhy. And, last, windows *must* be installed on the internal drive, it is the only one bootcamp will allow operations on. Anything else, let me know.Click on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below.//www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover-- George Zaynoun Timmerv. 6A, SE54163 SKÖVDE Tel/Fax: +46500201623 Mobile: +46707567315 E-mail: humorlessgeza@xxxxxxxxxxxxEmail services provided by the System Access Mobile Network.
