My wife has a weird lamp thing that has an induction plate as part of its base
for charging earbud cases, phones, and the lamp part itself… and when I get the
phone carefully positioned on that—it’s very tiny, apparently—it makes the
charging noise randomly throughout the charging session, but always comes away
fully charged. If that makes sense. As of right now, the charger in question is
keeping the phone charged, whereas before, while the phone was reporting
“charging,” in the status bar, it was not actually charging. So I’m flummoxed.
And hot, yes—it’s already 96, on the way to 100 here today. Again. Isn’t global
climate change fun!?

I’m not an expert in these matters, by any stretch of the imagination.
However, I was @ one time a software engineer & logic flow is everything in
that pursuit. So, that being said, if the OEM’s charger is providing
optimal performance, but the after-market is no-longer providing it’s
previous performance level; then logic dictates the problems probably with
the wireless charger. I don’t see the 10R’s level of inductance changing
over time. Have you considered purchasing a second wireless charger for
test purposes? If the result remains the same, then you can begin to
suspect the phone. If, however, the newer charger performs as you believe
it should, then you know the original wireless charger is the culprit. If
nothing else, then you’ll have a second charging station for another room
in your home or work.
Anyway, hope that helped a little & best of luck in chasing the answer down,

I’m using an iPHone XR, a5bout a year old, but its battery health is still
at 94% efficiency, supporting peak performance. Usually, I place it on a

my battery charge at 100% all day long, no matter what activity I’m doing
with the phone. Lately, though, the battery charge is dropping, while on
the wireless charger. When I plug it directly into power, though, it
charges fine.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Is it my wireless charger, going
wonky? Does that even happen? Any opinions welcome…
