Lara:
I think Jim's assessment pretty much matches mine. With little phone
use, and mostly email usage (for no more than 2 hours or so), and with
Blue Tooth turned off, I can get about 20 hours of usage.
With moderate phone use , 3 or 4 calls of less than 5 minutes and 2
hours of email use, I get from 12 to 16 hours.
Is that "fast" battery drain? It all depends. My sighted colleagues at
our firm complain that the iPhone, even the 3G, drains batteries
relatively fast, and they aren't using VoiceOver at all. Used to
Blackberries (with cell phone functionality turned off), the iPhone does
drain batteries faster.
My point is that "fast" and "slow" are purely relative terms.
When I used a Windows Mobile PDA with MobileSpeak Pocket, if I got 8
hours of use, I was thrilled!
The iPhone's functionality makes it much more like a PDA than a mere
cell phone.
Just plug it in every night.
