Somebody (I think Ian) wrote that the small differences between Windows and the Mac caused trip ups (not exact quote). The point that needs to be kept in mind is that the Mac and Windows are actually quite different from each other and you can't undertake learning the Mac as just a modification of your Windows experience. It also seems to me that the guides at "I can work this thing" are specifically for voiceover and that still means you have to look at the mainstream documentation and tutoials to learn the Mac. I don't think this is inappropriate. If you think about it, learning a Windows screenreader doesn't teach you the Windows OS either, though because blind people learn them together they may seem inseparable.

I believe that helps for getting started with the Mac have been posted here from time to time and maybe they could be posted again. The voiceover getting started guide is very helpful but no, it probably isn't all you need. Remember too that Google can be a big help; I've often gone looking for keystrokes in Mac, Windows and Linux by using google. That isn't to discourage use of this list at all, just an encouragement that there are lots of ways to find help when trying to use a new system.
