Keith, I think I’m about 30 minutes further along than you, in that after your
email I thought, that’s right, I need to get off my butt and do that blog thing
too, then spent about half an hour investigoogling before I thought I’d better
just note down my questions and thoughts and bounce them back to the list. I
also got to the stage of, but wait, what do I actually want to write about.

I’m also in the very beginning pondering phase of starting a blog. John and
others, can you validate some of the things I’ve noted in my investigoogling?
There are two ways to do WordPress, one has you install their software on your
own web server, the other, through Wordpress.com <http://wordpress.com/> takes
care of everything for you once you sign up, but the choices are limited to
what they offer.
If you are going the Wordpress.com <http://wordpress.com/> route, the first
step is to sign up and pick a theme.
It’s best to have sighted assistance when picking a theme because it is about
the look and you want it to look good.
Once you have your theme picked, you use a web interface to add content like
text, photos and links.
About Mars Edit
Mars Edit is an off line editor that takes the place of the web Wordpress
interface.

Can you use Mars Edit with a Wordpress.com <http://wordpress.com/> site?
