got the latest version?
go to preferences, and find something about updating on one of the tabs (general I think) check update to beta versions checkbox, then go check for updates in adium menu. Update to the latest version (which incidently will give you twitter access) and it should work.

Subject: [macvoiceover] How to stop adium from saying empty

Hi Listers,
I finally got around to installing adium but I have one annoying problem.
Adium keeps saying empty before a contacts name is there anyway to stop this
behavior thanks in advance.
Corey
