even let me put in a passcode at all. I guess I’m going to have to do a
complete restore and back up from iCloud. Thanks for explaining the absence of
iTunes. :)

Itunes was abolished in Mac OS 15, but you can still do the same
things in the finder -- if you plug in your iphone, you will find it

it may not work if your iPhone doesn’t get some sort of Internet signal.
Go to http://iCloud.com/find
Find your iPhone and select it. Then click on “Erase”. Leave all the
prompts for the phone number and such blank and click erase. It may take a
while to erase, but it should. Alternatively, you can erase it from the
Find My app on another iOS device.
