[macvoiceover] 2 audio editing questions

Hi all!
I just recorded a new DJ mix I made with the DJay program, but now would like
to tweak it just a little. First, at a certain place within the file there's a
little bit of silence that I want to remove. Can anyone just tell me the
easiest way to do that with either Garage Band or Ammadeus Pro? I have both,
but still need to familiarize myself with the features... Also, how can I
increase the overall volume of the music permanently with these programs?
