to save disc space? to eliminate a keystroke?
once it’s imported, it will be even faster.

Why would I do that, and just connecting to the same library is much faster?

for that matter, you can import your library.

What I did when I did a clean install of mavericks is. I saved my entire
iTunes library on my NAS. Then after the clean install, I told iTunes to
connect to the save library by holding the option key when opening iTunes.
I found the library, and connected to it. When I plugged my iPhone in, it
recognized it as the same library I have been using. So it wasn't necessary
to rebuild my library.

Back up your device before you clean install mavericks and then follow the
instructions to restore it from a backup if requested. The only things
you'll loose are things that are not apple. you can even retrieve your data
if it is in iCloud. if you have content that did not come from apple such
as audible books, get them from audible, bard books, get them from bard and
so on. if any of it is from css you've ripped or your own movies or videos
including dads, make sure you have them or they will be gone even if you do
restore from a back up.

you do not need to back it up but if you want, just copy the folder
somewhere. You can redownload them if you've pobtained them from iTunes.

Hi all, if I were to do a clean install of Mavericks in the future then I
have a question I'd like answered.

I have purchased quite a lot of audiobooks from iTunes and so naturally I
don't want all this to be lost after the clean install. So what are the ways
in which I could possibly back up all this content. Also would it be
possible to re-download it all again and not be charged for it?

Your comments on big iTunes audio libary's music, apps audiobooks and
otherwise will be greatly appreciated.

P.S.
As a side note:
If I re-installed the OS new or otherwise and plugged my iPhone once iTunes
is opened would all the content from the iPhone get imported back into
iTunes again. or would it wipe my phone leaving me with nothing?

Thanks
