you do not need to back it up but if you want, just copy the folder somewhere.
You can redownload them if you’ve pobtained them from iTunes.

Hi all, if I were to do a clean install of Mavericks in the future then I have
a question I'd like answered.

I have purchased quite a lot of audiobooks from iTunes and so naturally I don't
want all this to be lost after the clean install. So what are the ways in which
I could possibly back up all this content. Also would it be possible to
re-download it all again and not be charged for it?

Your comments on big iTunes audio libary's music, apps audiobooks and otherwise
will be greatly appreciated.

P.S.
As a side note:
If I re-installed the OS new or otherwise and plugged my iPhone once iTunes is
opened would all the content from the iPhone get imported back into iTunes
again. or would it wipe my phone leaving me with nothing?

Thanks
