It is a database/catalog program for books, Book Collector. They also have
similar programs for comics and music.
https://www.collectorz.com ;
There is a searchable list of authors/titles which return book info like
publisher/date/cover image and one
can choose a title to be entered into one’s local database. It is only this
function in the program which has altered navigation issues. They recently
separated the three programs they support into separate servers . There is also
the ability to put things in the Cloud and share across platforms. I know there
were changes in this aspect also but not a feature I use. It is highly
accessible except for a few combo boxes and some settings for sorting which
require dragging and dropping items to a table. But once this is set with
sighted help, it can be saved.
Is it possible that I have something altered in my Vo settings? I did not
consider this much for this one screen within Book Collector is the only Vo
Issue I have.
What information might be needed to determine where the Vo navigation controls
are? I can ask. I thought it might be the access to the searchable database
accessed through the internet but he says no. The internet is not involved. But
whatever they changed going to a new server altered every version of this
program I have for just this function. Does anyone know where the
buttons/fields are identified to Voice Over? It is such a curious and obvious
, isolated problem that it would seem easily tracked down if one knew where to
look. It is still usable but awkward and definitely worse than it was before
the migration to a different server and whatever other changes at the time. I
just thought there may be someone on this list who has delved into navigation
issues with Apple at some point from Yosemite and later. The support staff
there has been so supportive and I am the only one using VO but they actively
and quickly deal with what I encounter. It has been wonderful to be able to
catalog all of the books in the house and determine what to do with them. For
those with limited vision, there is also a scan function for the ISBN allowing
entry that way. The app allows for every possible thing you may want to
catalog about a book and search and sort results within. Since they are so open
to it, I would like to assist them in debugging this for those like me who have
a house full of stuff no longer easily identifiable due to vision loss.
I’m grateful for any suggestions.

Is this a web application? I don’t know why moving to a different server

using to design the app and what does it do?

Hi ALl,
I am working with a developer of a third party App on the Mac. It was
highly accessible until they moved it to a different server. Now, only one
screen, which involves a search function, now has the buttons and field
interactions all jumbled. For instance, I used to be able to move around the
screen with VO-right alone and hear the fields/buttons in a logical sequence,
and interact as I would expect. Now VO-right begins in a different location,
and stops partway through the screen. I can move around completely with Tab
but if I VO-space to activate something it announces a different button. It
as thought the field and button assignments are jumbled.
Do any of you know enough or can point me to a expert on the programming of
the navigation control? The developer has been extremely courteous helping
just me through this weird change.
He is running 10.12 and sees similar behavior as I do with oS 10.10. I will
try to get help upgrading to 10.12 but I don’t think that will resolve the
problem, if at all. i would appreciate any paths you think the programmers
can follow to uncover the VO navigation issue.
Thanks in advance,
Leslie
