that is not the impression I get. They say they are giving it away for free
and that it will be available on first launch but what prevents you from
restoring your phone as a new device if that is what you need to do.

Just to clear one thing up here. The iWork suite is only new for new
devices. Menaing, if you buy the 5c, or 5s, you will get those apps free,
if your just upgrading to IOS7, they are not free.

Unless you're unhappy with your battery life, or really want finger print
scanning security, it doesn't seem worth the upgrade, especially if you
already have an iPhone 5. That being said, the 4 and 4s really do have awful
battery life and only get worse the longer you own the phone. Once I save up
enough cash, I plan on upgrading, though I'll definitely give the Nexus
products a fair shake before I do.

For anyone who hasn't read or watched anything yet, the only things that
were talked about were iOS 7 and the new iPhones. The new OS can be
installed in iPhone 4 and above, iPad 2 and above (including Minnie), and
the fifth gen iPod Touch.

IOS 7 has some really cool features to look forward to, including airdrop,
itunes radio, free iWorks (iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband, Pages, Numbers, etc),
and smarter notifications and apps, as well as a few other things.

The iPhone 5C will come in 5 different colors (white, blue, green, pink, and
yellow), and the 5s will come in three colors (white, black and gold). The
5c is made of plastic, while the 5s has a similar construction as the 5. The
5s can run 64 bit architecture, which is pretty darned cool, and is also
significantly faster than anything before the 5. It will be interesting to
see whether those things will make any major difference to the blind
community. I wager all of us would be happier with faster loading apps and
the greater computing ability of 64 bit, though. I hope GPS apps take ample
advantage of it and the improved accelerometer, altimeter sensors and the
improved features iOS 7 will provide. Time will tell.

That's very simplified from what was anounced, and the new 5c, 5s and iOS 7
pages added to apple.com, but I understand the draw of not wanting to slog
through all that. I think those were the major highlights, though.

TBH, I'm more excited about the new OS X.
